Open-Level Afro- Brazillian

About this event

Experience the vibrant rhythms, rich traditions, and powerful movement of Afro-Brazilian dance in this energetic open-level class. Rooted in African traditions and Brazilian culture, Afro-Brazilian dance blends expressive movement, grounded technique, dynamic footwork, and live or recorded percussion rhythms to create a joyful and invigorating dance experience. Classes focus on rhythm, musicality, coordination, body awareness, strength, and endurance while exploring traditional and contemporary Afro-Brazilian movement. Dancers will develop confidence, cultural appreciation, and expressive performance through technique exercises, across-the-floor progressions, and choreography. Open to dancers of all experience levels, this class provides a welcoming environment to explore movement, connect with community, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Afro-Brazilian dance. No prior Afro-Brazilian dance experience is required. Just bring comfortable clothing, plenty of energy, and a willingness to move, learn, and have fun!
