About this event
As we put our outdoor gardens to rest and the winter weather sets in it can be hard to stay connected to nature. In this make-and-take workshop, design and build a mini sensory garden to engage the senses and support calm, mindful moments during the colder months. Explore the importance of staying connected to nature, learn mindful indoor gardening practices and share techniques on how to care for your new sensory garden. All materials are provided, including plants that will thrive in a variety of growing conditions. This experience of creating and tending to your garden will serve as a lasting reminder to slow down, connect with your senses and nurture yourself throughout the winter season. Duration: 2 hours Price: $50, $40 member Location: York Street Instructor: Angie Andrade Angie is a horticulturist and horticultural therapist who has a passion for teaching and guiding people through the world of horticulture. For two decades Angie connected people with plants by designing gardens and building therapeutic programs at Denver Botanic Gardens. She continues this work in the Denver area with her business, Nature Reconnect, that utilizes the power of nature to provide accessible nature-based programing, garden consulting and teaching services to enhance physical and mental wellbeing for all people.
