About this event

Belief Cafe - Reasons for Belief: Secular, religious, and other Cohosts: Sean Hansz, Leta Todd, and Roy Hutchison

Session 3: Can't We All Just Get Along? Society, Tribalism and Me

An open-minded discussion for people of all philosophies to explore the 'why' behind worldviews, whether secular, religious, or in between.

This is an opportunity to discuss various opinions and explain, if you like, how, when and why aspects of your belief system developed. The goal is discovery, dialogue, curiosity, and connection, not debate or conversion.

Are you questioning long-held assumptions? Is a prior leap of faith not as certain as you once thought?

Whatever your outlook is, join us to share your story, and understand others. All beliefs and suggestions for conversation topics are welcome!

A la Carte Menu:

• According to your appetite and taste, select or introduce your own topic:

• Holding a lifelong belief, or made a major change?

• How fluid are our beliefs?

• Do our beliefs set us free or tie us down?

• The roles of philosophy and the scientific method to belief systems

• How does tradition and popular opinion determine societal belief systems?

• Is communicating your beliefs to others or even yourself “easy?”
