The Residency at FLORA Presents: ARCO PROFUNDO by Geovanni Barrios

About this event

Join us for the opening of ARCO PROFUNDO, a group exhibition curated by and featuring FLORA Artist-in-Residence Geovanni Barrios, alongside special guests Veronica Bello and Cici Osias, presented by The Residency at FLORA.

Taking inspiration from NASA’s Hubble Deep Field, a series of images revealing thousands of distant galaxies and offering new perspectives on the formation and scale of the universe, ARCO PROFUNDO considers how human-scale history might be measured. Marking the culmination of Geovanni’s residency at FLORA, the exhibition brings together three artists whose practices explore personal and inherited disconnections from place and family.

Through works spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, weaving, natural dye techniques and more, Geovanni, Veronica and Cici explore our relationships with nature, family, culture and place across geographic and generational distances.

Celebrate the opening with an evening of art, drinks and community on Nov. 6th

from 6–9 p.m. at The Residency at FLORA Gallery (1955 35th Street).

Can’t make the opening? The exhibition will remain on view through December 20.
