  • Colorado author Shelley Read’s debut novel 'Go as a River' has gained global success by selling over 1 million copies and securing 30 translation deals with a film adaptation planned, while she works on a second novel that builds on her Colorado roots.  Colorado Public Radio
  • Boulder leaders visited the Sundance Film Festival in Park City as organizers plan to bring the event to Boulder next year — local officials expect that the larger area will offer improved lodging and more space for guests.  Denver7

  • Colorado Parks and Wildlife reported that park rangers found a bald eagle shot in the wing near Croke Reservoir in Northglenn and brought it to a local rehabilitation facility, where it underwent surgery and is now recovering—officials are asking for public tips.  Sentinel Colorado

  • The Better Business Bureau warns Coloradans to be cautious of scam calls using AI voices to mimic real companies and offer false tax relief — Denver resident Laura Leckband logged seven calls in two weeks and advises verifying numbers with known IRS contacts.  Denver7
  • In December, Xcel Energy shut off power in Boulder County, leaving low-income residents like Betty Devine and her friend on oxygen struggling with outages and spoiled supplies. Today, regulators & local leaders hold hearings to improve communication and reliability before future wildfire risks require more shutoffs.  Colorado Public Radio
  • Colorado reached 6 million residents between July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025 with only 0.4 percent annual growth—its slowest rate since 1989; natural increase offset migration losses as 12,000 more residents left for jobs amid high housing prices.  Colorado Public Radio

  • Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix broke a bone in his right ankle during a playoff win over Buffalo, influenced by a preexisting condition + he had surgery in Birmingham last week and is set to begin rehab immediately with a projected return in May.  Colorado Public Radio
  • CU football coach Deion Sanders introduced steeper fines last Friday after a 3-9 season, charging $500 for tardiness and $2,500 for missing practice and banning transfers from wearing former team gear to uphold discipline.  Colorado Public Radio
  • The Denver Broncos fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, wide receivers coach Keary Colbert, and cornerbacks coach Addison Lynch on Tuesday after their AFC championship game loss amid a snowstorm.
