- ➤ 100-year-old Mel Faes, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and his sons deliver meals and friendly company to homebound seniors across Denver every Monday, continuing their 40-year commitment to support dignity + community. Denver7

- ➤ Local 303 spotlights Black musicians for Black History Month in Denver by featuring local talent like Osha Renee, Home, and Ason Yugen with new tunes this month. - ➤ At Golden’s Shelton Elementary School, third graders met with meteorologist Allie Mazurek on Jan. 26 to learn why this winter shows fewer snowy days than last winter and why warm Decembers and thin mountain air affect current temperatures. Colorado Public Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Evergreen Fire Rescue held a live burn demo Saturday to show how the new wildfire resiliency code increases home safety by requiring fire-resistant materials and defensible space. The demo tested decking under intense heat — stressing the need to clear junipers near structures. Denver7
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ AdventHealth Castle Rock’s clinical ladder program launched in August 2023 has reduced nurse burnout and turnover. Seventy percent of nurses advanced their careers (boosting patient care) with a 75% decline in turnover, and the program will soon expand to other healthcare roles. Denver7
