- ➤ A new bill introduced at the Colorado legislature will let highly rated veteran teachers receive written evaluations every three school years instead of annually. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After its April oil spill in Weld County, state regulators proposed a $1.53 million fine for Noble Energy for pollution violations, and said cleanup and monitoring will take four more years (the proposal is set for a public vote on March 18). Colorado Public Radio
- ➤ Evacuations are in place along Lake Gulch Road to Greenland Road due to a 50-acre grass fire burning a few miles south of Castlewood Canyon State Park (emergency crews are deploying air and blade resources as winds push the fire southeast). Denver7
- ➤ Road Home Exteriors launched a free 28-point Harden-Your-Home Program to help local homeowners strengthen exteriors as new wildfire codes and insurance laws take effect in Jefferson County. The personalized assessments give documentation for insurers to consider when updating policies. Denver7
- ➤ Winter Park Resort has used cloud seeding to boost its slopes during a low-snow season; spokesperson Jen Miller said the resort triggered 10 to 12 events when conditions were right (using silver iodide) to help both skiing and water supplies in the region. Denver7
