BUSINESS NEWS

  • Public Storage will buy National Storage Affiliates in an all-stock deal worth $10.5 billion, creating a company with 327 million sqft over 4,600 locations. The deal, approved by both boards, is set to close in Q3 and strengthens Public Storage while National Storage stays in Greenwood Village (a Denver suburb).  Sentinel Colorado

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bleachers will release everyone for ten minutes on Friday, May 22nd via Dirty Hit Records, and frontman Jack Antonoff said performing at Red Rocks is his favorite venue. The band will return for a concert at Red Rocks on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd (Denver event confirmed).  Colorado Public Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • First-graders at Wheat Ridge’s Stevens Elementary studied bird migration after an unusually warm winter that allowed some species to stay or return early despite typical patterns. Experts say most birds still migrated south, but climate shifts are subtly changing behaviors (influencing local food and habitat), which may have long-term effects.  Colorado Public Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Karen McNeil-Miller, who has led the Colorado Health Foundation since 2015, will retire at the end of this year after boosting grant totals and community impact. The nonprofit, with nearly $3 billion in assets, has awarded tens of millions to programs that advance health equity across Colorado.  Colorado Public Radio
