CULTURE NEWS

  • Aurora Fox Arts Center named veteran theater executive Lisa Rigsby Peterson as interim manager to lead Season 41, including the 'Fat Ham' opening March 27 (and review operations through Dec. 31) to guide the venue’s next chapter.  Sentinel Colorado
  • The Museum of Outdoor Arts in Greenwood Village opens an indoor exhibit titled ‘Beyond the Western Horizon’ today that features about 20 contemporary Western artists. The Madden Gallery will showcase the art through July 31 + admission is free.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A power outage disrupted the train service at Denver International Airport on Wednesday, Mar. 18 at 9:20 a.m. Power was restored shortly after 11 a.m. and the FAA lifted its ground stop while officials explore clean energy options.  Colorado Public Radio
  • Colorado lawmakers' Joint Budget Committee voted last week to cut Medicaid caregiver hours from more than 100 to 56 later this year — a move that will reduce reimbursements for caregivers like Casey Barrett, who supports his daughter with a rare genetic disorder.  Sentinel Colorado

SPORTS NEWS

  • Colorado native players Nicole Hensley and Peyton Anderson shined as the Minnesota Frost beat the New York Sirens 4-3 on Sunday, March 15 at Ball Arena. Local fans cheered loudly and called for a Denver women's hockey team as the game drew a record crowd of 15,512.  Colorado Public Radio
