- ➤ Jefferson County volunteers, including 83-year-old Jerry Arni (who ziplines to a safe river vantage point) monitor peregrine falcon nests and other raptors along the North Fork South Platte River; their reports help officials decide when to reopen local trails. Denver7
- ➤ Officials in Highlands Ranch, Parker and Castle Rock urged Douglas County residents to conserve water on Tuesday amid a record-dry winter because outdoor watering spikes consumption in spring and summer (which may force costly restrictions) as nearby communities tighten limits. Denver7
