  • The new Anythink Nature Library in Thornton is set to open on Aug. 8, offering books and outdoor gear for local nature exploration. The 33,000 sqft building sits on 140 acres of Aylor Open Space (featuring eco-friendly design, a cafe, trails, and climbing boulders).  Colorado Public Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Local 303 highlights fresh local music this April from artists including Jesus Christ Taxi Driver, shadow work, velvet daydream, waxpool and $cotty, with new tracks and tour plans. A free Meetup is set for Monday, April 27 at Bar 404, featuring live shows + door prizes and ticket giveaways.  Colorado Public Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Drivers around Denver face higher gas prices as costs top $4 a gallon, with some areas charging over $4.10. Experts from the Colorado Wyoming Petroleum Marketers Association say prices could drop to around $3.50 by summer (federal actions may ease fuel costs).  Denver7

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Colorado School of Mines students are finalizing projects for the Innov8x Biomass Challenge, which will transform wildfire byproducts into low-cost conductive ink. They will present ideas on April 3 to expert judges — including a Jefferson County commissioner and Evergreen Fire division chief — with potential cash prizes and partnerships.  Denver7

HEALTH NEWS

  • The state health department confirmed measles in a Saguache County infant under 12 months who traveled to an out-of-state event and was not in public here, while officials reported 13 statewide cases that are unrelated to the Broomfield outbreak.  Colorado Public Radio
