CULTURE NEWS

  • RiNo leaders reorganized oversight of the district by splitting responsibilities among three independent groups (one for art, one for business, and one for infrastructure). EDUCATION NEWS

  • Denver South High School students are trading lunch hours today to rehearse their new student-led Banda music club on the fifth floor where teacher Kyle Dobbins provides support for exploring traditional Mexican music.  Denver7

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A small fire burned about 5.5 acres at Bluff Lake Tuesday evening, but firefighters from Denver and Aurora quickly contained the blaze & protected the Bluff Lake Nature Center near MLK Jr. Boulevard & Havana Street.  Denver7
  • Denver's public golf courses are reducing water usage by 20% to meet Stage 1 drought restrictions, using water from recycled and local sources + specialized turf techniques to keep greens playable this summer. Golfers remain hopeful while officials monitor water use closely.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Denver’s street sweeping program started Wednesday and will run from April through November to clear dirt and improve air quality — nearly 128,000 citations in 2025 raised around $6.7 million as DOTI urges residents to move their cars for full curb access.  Denver7
  • Aurora officials plan to put Stage 1 drought rules into place on April 7, cutting outdoor watering to two days per week and banning pool filling (with fines for repeated violations) as reservoirs drop to 68% capacity and snowpack sits at 49% of average.  Sentinel Colorado
