COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A Littleton food bank nearly closed during the pandemic until volunteer Birdy Brown stepped in to recruit help, secure food donations and keep it open for up to 65 local families twice a month. Denver7 honored her as an Everyday Hero for saving service in a food desert area.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dr. Robert Preuhs of Metropolitan State University of Denver explained that Colorado consumers may soon see higher gas prices as the war in Iran continues, an effect that may shift local voter opinions (longer conflicts usually reduce public support).  Denver7
  • Colorado’s future Front Range rail line is now called Colorado Connector (CoCo) after over 25,000 votes; service between Denver and Fort Collins is planned to start in 2029 with further expansion possible pending a November ballot measure.  Colorado Public Radio
