- ➤ Andy Pemberton of Lafayette working with Denver based nonprofit Nevis flew to Nepal on April 6 and reached base camp with his family to raise funds for disadvantaged Nepalese women and children — his climb aims to build 14 homes. He will keep climbing over the next month. Denver7

- ➤ University of Denver professor Remy Le Boeuf won a Grammy for his composition 'First Snow' inspired by October snow and recorded with Nordkraft Big Band. He teaches music and leads Lamont Jazz Orchestra while his group Assembly of Shadows will perform at Dazzle on May 2. Colorado Public Radio

- ➤ Since 2015, CSU and Larimer County have restored a bison herd at Soapstone Prairie Natural Area, which now includes three adult females and 29 calves — associate professor Jennifer Barfield leads research that uses reproduction technologies to secure the species' future. Denver7

- ➤ State lawmakers plan to revise the 3% affordable housing growth rule in Proposition 123 as most local governments risk losing $350M in funding starting Jan. 1 (without legislative changes). House Bill 1313 offers a new formula linking targets to local permit and job growth. Colorado Public Radio
- ➤ Drivers on I-25 now must pay tolls when using express lanes between Berthoud and Fort Collins. The Colorado Department of Transportation said tolls vary by time of day—warnings began April 7 and lane weaving fines start May 7. Denver7
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Unseasonably warm weather is boosting Denver's housing market as new listings jumped about 20% over the past month and homes now sell in roughly 14 days, real estate expert Joy Dysart said. The trend is expected to continue as buyers move in before summer. Denver7
