ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Golden declared a Stage 1 drought emergency and put water restrictions into effect Friday — residents may water lawns twice a week between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. and must repair leaks within 10 days to avoid $1,000 fines or water shutoff.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Construction on the final leg of the East Colfax Avenue Bus Rapid Transit project began Friday in Aurora at Yosemite Street extending east toward I-225. The new design uses outside lanes—aiming to reduce disruption to local businesses—while the city forms a Downtown Development Authority to reinvest corridor tax revenue.  Denver7

HEALTH NEWS

  • AdventHealth Littleton has launched a 24/7 forensic nursing program to treat victims of violence in the southern Denver area. The program, starting this week, offers trauma-informed care, easing travel barriers and working with local first responders — ensuring survivors receive timely, respectful exams and support.  Colorado Public Radio
