CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 23-year-old Denver man was arrested on Monday on an unrelated warrant and charged with a hit-and-run that killed cyclist John Wilkinson on Sunday in Boulder County — officials said he drove a blue Toyota Highlander, fled the scene, and abandoned his vehicle in Littleton. Denver7
- ➤ Aurora police are asking for public help in identifying a man who allegedly attacked a woman near Expo Park on the High Line Canal Trail on May 8 around 6:30 a.m.—the suspect, described as about 5'10" and 175 pounds with dark shoulder-length hair and wearing white tennis shoes, green pants, and a black jacket, fled north after the victim fought him off. - ➤ Aurora police said two males were taken to hospital after a shooting on Wednesday evening on the 3100 block of Ursula Street—one with life-threatening injuries and one with minor wounds as investigators work to gather more details with no suspect yet identified. Denver7

- ➤ Denver has seen a 150% rise in families experiencing homelessness since 2022 due to more evictions and an influx of newcomers. Mayor Mike Johnston's team will launch an eviction prevention program with Denver Public Schools and expand rapid rehousing efforts — including a summer plan to help families living in vehicles move into shelter or stable housing.
