- ➤ Gov. Polis vetoed House Bill 1291 that would impose new safety measures on rideshare companies after a state lawmaker was allegedly assaulted during a Lyft ride. Uber warned it might stop service in Colorado if the measure became law—Lyft also urged the veto, and Polis said his office would explore other options to boost rideshare safety. - ➤ Denver will soon allow outdoor drinking in designated areas along 16th Street where people can enjoy cold beer or cocktails from licensed businesses between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. with extended hours on some holiday weekends—these zones will open in time for the 16th Street grand reopening on May 31 and include restrictions like no outside drinks.
