ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire tore through an apartment building at 797 N. Dillon Way in Aurora early Tuesday, displacing 50 residents and injuring two as firefighters rescued several residents while the roof collapsed and smoke was visible on I-225.  Denver7

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Recent rain improved Denver's drought conditions from 'extreme' to 'severe' while parts of the plains shifted to moderate; meteorologists from the National Weather Service expect more showers later this week to ease fire weather concerns.  Colorado Public Radio
  • On Memorial Day, non-U.S. residents at Rocky Mountain National Park paid an extra $100 fee in addition to the $15 to $30 daily charge, though many visitors were not asked for proof of citizenship and enforcement was lax. This new policy began earlier this year through an executive order.  Colorado Public Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new federal proposal for Colorado River management would require state water users to meet every two years to renegotiate water-sharing rules, which may make planning uncertain (according to state officials). The plan aims to stabilize water use while a longer agreement is developed.  Colorado Public Radio
