ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Late Thursday, rescuers plucked two New York men struck by lightning from near the summit of Torreys Peak about 40 miles west of Denver—one was hospitalized in fair condition while the other was treated and released, and officials say the rescue may be record-high for Colorado.  Denver7
  • On Friday night, a wrong-way crash on I-76 in Adams County killed one person and injured two when a pickup truck traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes hit a sedan between Federal Boulevard + N. Pecos Street, and emergency crews responded quickly.  Denver7

CRIME NEWS

  • Aurora police responded Friday night to a Village East home on the 12000 block of East Arizona Avenue where blood was found at the door and a man with a gunshot wound was discovered—officers provided first aid until rescue teams transported him to a nearby hospital and the investigation continues with no arrests.  Sentinel Colorado

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Psychedelic Science 2025: The Integration conference will return to Denver at the Colorado Convention Center with workshops beginning Monday and main events starting Wednesday; MAPS is hosting the event to bring together scientists, therapists and policy makers to discuss technical, cultural and regulatory changes following Colorado’s new psilocybin policies — Gov. Jared Polis and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry are scheduled to speak. Thousands are expected to attend panel discussions, workshops and community gatherings that explore innovative ways to integrate psychedelics into legal and therapeutic frameworks.  Colorado Public Radio
