- ➤ Rescuers saved two New York men struck by lightning near Torreys Peak last Thursday after a Colorado National Guard Blackhawk helicopter set a record by hoisting the more seriously injured man from 14,200 feet — one man was hospitalized in fair condition while the other received treatment and was released. - ➤ An Aurora police officer fatally shot a 58-year-old man on Saturday during a domestic disturbance when the man produced a handgun from a toolbox and pointed it at officers at a home in the 15800 block of E. Arkansas Drive — the officer has been placed on leave as independent and internal investigations continue. Denver7
- ➤ Denver police arrested 17 protestors during Saturday protests after peaceful marches near the State Capitol turned tense when hundreds moved toward the highway and officers used pepper balls and smoke—resulting in charges for resisting arrest, obstruction, and throwing projectiles. Denver7
- ➤ Police in Denver investigated a shooting early Sunday morning in downtown’s Ballpark District on the 2200 block of Blake Street—one person was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead while no arrests have been made. Denver7
