- ➤ A missing Indigenous alert was issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation after Gary Deschenee (63) was last seen walking near Barnum Park on July 2 at 2:30 p.m. with black hair, brown eyes, a height of 5-foot 8-inches and weighing about 181 pounds as authorities ask anyone with information to call 911 or the Denver Police Department (720) 913-2000. - ➤ An unhoused man who thought he had put out his cigarette started a 0.25 acre grass fire near the Saddlebrooke at Rock Creek complex in the Town of Superior on Thursday evening—authorities arrested him and booked him for fourth-degree arson. Denver7
- ➤ The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a Senior Alert for an 85-year-old woman with memory issues who was last seen leaving the Cherrelyn Health Care Center in Littleton near Power Park at 8:24 p.m. on July 3—she was wearing a blue t-shirt, black and white pants, gray shoes and carried a black bag, and anyone who sees her should call 911 or Littleton Police. - ➤ Denver native Philip Bailey, lead singer of Earth, Wind & Fire, answered fan questions during an interview with Colorado Matters as the band kicked off its tour at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater in Greenwood Village (Father’s Day weekend). - ➤ On Friday, Lakewood Ranger Grace King patrolled Bear Creek Lake Park as 60 to 75 cars queued before the park opened at 6 a.m.—capacity was reached at 9:40 a.m.—and officials turned cars away while enforcing life jacket rules. Denver7
- ➤ Aurora is using $130,000 of unused public safety funds to keep the Aurora Day Resource Center open as an overnight shelter for single adults while the Navigation Campus is delayed until the fourth quarter.
