- ➤ Firefighters have increased containment on many Western Slope wildfires that burned over 30,000 acres in Delta, Mesa and Montrose counties since lightning started the blazes on July 10. Evacuations at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and along Highway 141 occurred and Governor Polis declared a disaster to unlock state and federal aid—several park structures and roads were damaged. - ➤ Compass Pathways is in the final phase of testing its synthetic psilocybin drug for treatment-resistant depression and will send its New Drug Application to the FDA between late 2026 and 2027. Supporters say the drug’s precise dosing may help shift therapy costs so insurers can cover treatment — a change from the current out-of-pocket model at natural psilocybin centers.
