CRIME NEWS

  • Denver police are searching for a suspect who fled on foot after a hit-and-run crash on the Speer Boulevard on-ramp to northbound I-25 around 1 a.m. Saturday—one person was killed and another injured as the ramp was closed for several hours.  Denver7
  • A 16-year-old boy riding an electric scooter was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Aurora Friday night around 11 p.m.—police said he was riding northbound in the bike lane when he was hit from behind and the driver fled north while officials ask locals to check camera footage.  Denver7
  • Police in Westminster investigated a hit-and-run crash that killed an adult man on foot early Saturday morning before 6:30 a.m. on Sheridan Boulevard and arrested a male suspect who returned to the scene.  Denver7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health experts are urging caution as West Nile virus cases increase in Colorado. Eleven people have been infected and one person died, and Dr. Andrew Wolfe advises older residents and those with diabetes to limit outdoor time at dawn and dusk — a measure to reduce exposure to mosquito bites.  Denver7
