- ➤ Aurora police are seeking information on Michel Jordan Castellano-Fonseca, 30, who fatally shot a 26-year-old woman and injured another during a domestic dispute at Aurora Meadows apartments around 3 a.m.—he left in a green Acura MDX SUV with a Colorado license plate CV0668. Sentinel Colorado
- ➤ Denver police are investigating a homicide in the Five Points neighborhood—detectives reported the incident on the 2200 block of Glenarm Place Saturday night with no arrests made—and the Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity and cause of death later. Denver7
- ➤ The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said that road rage shooting suspects Pierre Morris, 38, and Shakeyah Jackson, 29, tossed several firearms and ammunition into a pond after a high-speed chase on U.S. 6 near Tunnel 1 ended at an apartment complex—no injuries were reported and the suspects now face multiple charges. - ➤ Denver Zoo announced that its beloved Nile hippo Mahali will be moved to a 3-acre wildlife preserve in Texas this fall so the zoo can repair its Old Pachyderms building and cut water use. - ➤ Denver Health will expand its doula program as more expectant mothers plan to use the service after Medicaid began covering care—hospital officials say the move will improve non-medical support before, during and after childbirth.
