CRIME NEWS

  • Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said a white male suspect forced entry into the Safeway corporate office at 6900 S. Yosemite Street in Centennial around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, turned on the water to flood parts of the building, and fled before deputies arrived — he is described as thin, balding, and wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans, and flip flops.  Denver7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Aurora crews will begin repairs on four I-225 bridges Sunday night — the three-month project will require overnight lane closures with single-lane work starting at 7 p.m. and lanes reopening by 5 a.m.; the closures will affect northbound and southbound lanes on different days through Aug. 14, so drivers are advised to follow posted signs.  Sentinel Colorado
  • Colorado corrections officials evacuated 179 inmates from a minimum-security facility near Rifle Saturday afternoon because the growing Lee Fire in Rio Blanco County forced the move—no injuries were reported and the fire has expanded to over 88,000 acres, making it the state’s sixth largest wildfire.  Colorado Public Radio
