CRIME NEWS

  • Denver police reported that a 45-year-old driver in a Honda Civic intentionally pushed a motorcycle into oncoming traffic at 7:25 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of E. Hampden and S. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Minimum wage workers in Denver will earn nearly $20 per hour starting January 1 as the local minimum wage rises to $19.29 while tipped workers will get $16.27 if they earn enough tips—city officials say the increase is tied to a 2019 law that adjusts wages to inflation. Some business owners report that higher labor costs may force them to close or move out of the city.  Denver7
  • Colorado lawmakers will meet on August 21 to address a nearly $750 million budget gap caused by lower tax revenue from federal tax changes—state officials say the gap is worsened by Colorado’s use of federal taxable income.
