Bridge House announced Aurora's Ready to Work program will close on Sept.
30 due to funding shifts toward low-barrier shelters. The Boulder community kitchen is also closing Friday while staff help around 30 participants transition to other local programs + available services.
Radio DJ Johnnie Johnson (with deep park ties) has long called La Alma Lincoln Park home and now meets with other seniors at Inner City Parish on Thursdays to share stories about its history and debate changes, alluding to the Bronco in the room.
🏛️ Government
Denver launched a citywide listening tour on universal childcare — a response to soaring care costs and limited licensed spots — which began Tuesday at Carla Madison Recreation Center.
The tour continues next Wednesday at Eisenhower Recreation Center with more sessions planned.
Community advocates rallied at the Capitol on Monday to demand a state public health order so that health officials can investigate a tuberculosis case at an Aurora detention center.
Gov. Polis’ office said it is actively monitoring the situation — urging GEO Group to work with local health officials.
