State officials announced on Friday that Golden Gate Canyon State Park earned its designation as Colorado’s first Urban Night Sky Place by DarkSky International.
Located 30 miles west of Denver, the park replaced 96 light fixtures (among other changes) to reduce light pollution and support wildlife.
