  • Kroenke Sports Charities and A Precious Child collected new and gently-used sports equipment and monetary donations for the giveSPORTS Equipment Drive on Sept. 20th at Ball Arena’s RAV4 Parking Lot, with items like soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, and baseball gear needed for local children. Donors received vouchers for Nuggets or Avalanche pre-season games—supporting extra help for kids to play sports.  Denver7

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Late in the summer, local homeowners like Lena Astilli replaced green lawns with xeriscaping — a low-water landscaping method using native plants — as drought made water scarce. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus—led by Rep. Gabe Evans—released a framework to reform permitting and speed up new energy projects. SPORTS NEWS

  • A survey by the Aspen Institute showed that families spent 46% more on a child’s main sport since 2019, with equipment costs now making up 17% of sports spending. In Northglenn, Charles Adam of 2nd Time Sports said parents relied on used gear — buying and renting equipment to manage rising costs.  Denver7
