  • Enrique A. Leal-Zubia, a 16-year-old junior at Arrupe Jesuit High School, earned the Denver7 Everyday Hero award for completing nearly 700 hours as a food bank intern at the Food Bank of the Rockies—he plans to reach more than 1,200 hours by graduation. He said his work makes him proud because he helps ensure children in need get a meal, and he was honored today during Denver7’s 7 Days to Help End Hunger campaign.  Denver7

CULTURE NEWS

  • Denver’s Buskerfest, started by the late Dana Crawford, ended after the pandemic brought a halt to busking downtown. The Downtown Denver Partnership is now working with Denver Arts and Venues to pay buskers for permits to perform on the 16th Street Mall—efforts that aim to revive street performance in the city.  Colorado Public Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Research by GoDaddy shows Denver ranks among the top cities for thriving small businesses near Empower Field, with local owners enjoying increased sales on game days. Business leaders expect continued growth as the Broncos plan a new retractable-roof stadium at Burnham Yard that will be completed by 2031—boosting the area’s economic momentum.  Denver7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Guidelight Health is launching a six week Spanish language intensive outpatient program in Denver to expand mental health care for Spanish speakers. The program— the first in person option in the Front Range— has taken referrals since September 15 and will begin in October.  Denver7
