- ➤ Every Thursday, the Mile High Freedom Band meets at Denver’s historic Grant Avenue Community Center to play music and share healing—led by longtime director Derek Hebert and joined by teachers, doctors, and others who seek belonging. Denver7
- ➤ History Colorado launched a new exhibit on October 20 that showcases Little Saigon's legacy in southwest Denver. The exhibit gathers over 30 oral histories and artifacts—local art is on display—to show how immigrants built a safe community. Denver7
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A University of Denver instructor recorded the chirp of the Japanese Burrowing Cricket on Sept. 25th at DU campus—the first known detection in Colorado of the invasive species from Asia—and confirmed its identity with expert analysis. - ➤ The U.S. Supreme Court announced Monday it will review whether regular pot users can legally own guns as Colorado gun and marijuana advocates watch the case closely. - ➤ Colorado is testing wastewater for measles after a Mesa County outbreak in August showed this tool's promise, with water utilities sending samples to a Denver lab twice weekly.
