- ➤ Indie 102.3 held its Local 303 Halloween Meetup at Skylark Lounge on Oct. 27, where hosts Willobee Carlan, Jason Thomas and Alisha Sweeney ran their 3rd annual costume contest and awarded Ms. Frizzle a grand prize with DEVO tickets and a trophy. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A SNAP benefits freeze is expected to strain a Sun Valley grocery store—nearly half its sales come from government aid and Double Up Food Bucks. The Denver Housing Authority said the food desert community may see fewer customers and lower orders as SNAP benefits run out this weekend—adding pressure on local access to fresh food. Denver7

- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife data showed that lone gray wolves expanded their range in the San Luis Valley (Sept. 23rd to Oct. 21st) and moved as far east as Alamosa and Conejos counties and as far south as the New Mexico border while searching for mates to form new packs. Colorado Public Radio

- ➤ Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is exploring a pedestrian bridge across Cherry Creek—linking Speer Boulevard between 10th Ave and Cherokee Street with Sunken Gardens Park as part of the 5280 Trail vision. The project aims to boost safety and expand the bike network but still awaits final design and funding amid a $200 million budget shortfall. Denver7

- ➤ Denver City Council President Amanda Sandoval recalled her father's struggle with smoking—he died of pancreatic cancer—and his role as a community champion to explain her support for the flavored tobacco ban now facing a November ballot challenge.
