EDUCATION NEWS

  • Astronaut John Herrington grew up in Colorado and became the first Native American in space while using his childhood rock climbing skills to prepare for tough spacewalks; he now helps Native youth explore STEM. After leaving NASA and earning a doctorate, he honors his roots by sharing the story of a special teacher’s gift—one that shaped his lifelong journey.  Colorado Public Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Denver Auditor's Office recovered a record $2.31M in unpaid wages for 7,200 workers in the reporting year ended Oct. 31, marking a 60% increase from last year. Denver Labor closed 859 cases and audited over 100,000 payroll records to find wage violations across several industries—strengthening efforts to enforce wage laws.  Denver7
  • Denver commuters on Santa Fe Drive in Baker must use alternate routes next week as railroad work will close the road both ways from 4 a.m. Monday, November 10 until 5 p.m. Friday, November 14—DOTI advises using Alameda Avenue to reach Federal Boulevard or turning onto I-25 to avoid delays.  Denver7

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Travis Ramos and his family have put the land with the historic 1913 caboose at the entrance to Louisville up for sale because they could not keep the restoration project going—he said a buyer with vision may invest in the site to build condos. He spent over $289,000 over five years on the project.  Denver7
