- ➤ Denver-based Frontier Airlines announced Monday that longtime CEO Barry Biffle resigned and interim CEO James Dempsey will lead while Biffle stays on as an advisor until year’s end. - ➤ CU Boulder researchers have been selected by NASA to design and build DUSTER, a set of instruments that will analyze lunar dust (which can damage equipment) for the Artemis IV mission scheduled to launch in 2028 on the moon's south pole. Denver7
- ➤ Colorado entrepreneur and consultant JB Holston will shadow current director Angie Paccione before taking over the higher education department on Jan. 9 as part of Gov. Polis’ plan to merge higher education + workforce development agencies. Sentinel Colorado
- ➤ Fourth-graders at Inspire Elementary School in Central Park met four baby goats Tuesday as part of a school farm program with Denver Public Schools + SustainEd Farms that teaches about sustainability and nutrition. Denver7
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction on the 200-foot-wide Greenland Wildlife Overpass is complete along I-25 in Douglas County, providing a safe crossing for elk, pronghorn, and other animals. The $15 million project, largely funded by a federal grant, aims to cut wildlife-vehicle crashes by 90 percent. Colorado Public Radio

- ➤ CommonSpirit St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood is preparing for potential public safety power shutoffs that may cancel outpatient appointments because hospital president Kevin Cullinan showed backup generators Tuesday + said they would support emergency services only, leaving clinics without power if Xcel Energy triggers shutoffs in Jefferson County.
